Jakarta to Host National Press Day in 2021

Hopefully the pandemic can be over quickly thus we can implement it smoothly without significant obstacles

Jakarta is about to host the National Press Day (HPN) on February 9, 2021. This assurance was made after a meeting between the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI Pusat) with Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (9/2).

In the meeting, the governor welcomed PWI's trust in the Jakarta Provincial Government to host it. Nevertheless, the HPN would be adjusted to the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Hopefully the pandemic can be over quickly thus we can implement it smoothly without significant obstacles," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He went on to say that his party was committed to support it and to propose location for its peak event.

"I choose Ancol as the location for the peak event of HPN 2021. In addition to very adequate facilities, it is also very qualified with big events that meet health protocol standards. This also shows that Jakarta is synonymous with a special city on the coast," he expressed.

In the meantime, Auri Jaya was again trusted to lead the event. His side also already had two scenarios for the event, namely direct and virtual meetings thus it could run livelier.

"We'll hold a committee meeting soon and will coordinate with the city team about event preparation," he explained, who was also successful as the Chair of the HPN Committee on February 9.

This meeting was also attended by Central PWI Chairman who is also the person in charge of HPN, Atal Sembiring Depari; Central PWI General Secretary, Mirza Zuhaldi; Central PWI Vice General Secretaries, Marthen Selamet Susanto and Suprapto; Central PWI Deputy General Treasurer, Edy Yoga; Central PWI Public Relation, Mercys Charles Loho; Jakarta PWI Chairman, Sayid Iskandarsyah; Jakarta PWI Vice Chairman, Tubagus Adi; and Jakarta PWI Secretary, Kesit Budi Handoyo.
